Merge branch 'official/pr/671' -- README cleanup

* official/pr/671:
  Capitalise project names consistently in README.md
  Indent configure flag section to make markdown format them as code
  Use https for resources that support it
  Rewords awkward sentences in README.md
  Fix typos in README.md
